Matt's Road Trip To Oregon

Matt took the kids to Oregon for his first interstate road trip to Oregon for a bike race and some camping!

  •
The rig loaded up and ready to leave the station!
  •
Mt. Shasta looming in the distance traveling up the 5 freeway.
  •
My family thought the town of "Weed" was hilarious.
  •
Just a pretty lake on our way to Bend, Oregon.
  •
The scene for Stage 1 of the Cascade Cycling Classic: Mt. Bachelor. I ended up in the winning break and got 6th overall on the day.
  •
This was right before the start of my last race in Bend, Oregon.
  •
Driving back to our campground at LaPine State Park was always a treat.
  •
I ended up finishing 5th overall in the CC after 3 days of racing. My girls were the best support team ever.
  •
We found a rope swing in the Deschuttes River near our campground in Bend, OR.
  •
Sisters, Oregon was a great lunch stop on our way to the coast. My girls liked these crossing flags you got to wave...
  •
Foster Lake was a perfect break to our drive to the coast. We would usually stop and jump in some kind of body of water everyday.
  •
My camper set up at South Beach State Park in Newport, Oregon.
  •
The beach trail behind our campground heading to the coast, which was always windy and cold by the way.
  •
Gorgeous dunes on the coast of Oregon.
  •
Everyday we made some time for hike to the beach through the dunes. My daughter Emma leads the way.
  •
The unforgiving coast of Northern Oregon.
  •
    Another landscape shot.
  •
Lily and Emma hug each other tight for warmth on South Beach.
  •
My girls had a nice time playing house in the jetty leading in to Newport.
  •
In Oregon a hoodie isn't a fashion statement, you wear it for warmth.
  •
    Downtown Newport: A hardworking port.
  •
Lily thought the bike racks shaped liked bikes were pretty cool. So did I.
  •
We stepped away from the campground for a huge dinner in the town of Bend one day...
  •
The best place to get away from the wind was on the sand.
  •
This unnamed crab shack in Newport was one of the best lunches I've ever had.
  •
We visited America's Largest Sea Cave!
  •
This is the entrance of the sea cave.
  •
Here is the inside of America's Largest Sea Cave.
  •
A parting shot of the sea cave.
  •
The sea lion rookery right outside of the sea cave. This is where they get busy and make babies.
  •
My girls took advantage of the opportunity to mug a couple of sea lions.
  •
My cousin drove up from Eugene for dinner at Mo's in Newport.
  •
The Sacramento River where we camped driving home. We all started the day by jumping in at this beautiful spot.
  •
Another view of the might Sack River.

Our last campsite at Sycamore Grove in Red Bluff, CA. Thanks for checking out my pics!
